I watched in person as this mod was done to my DJI Phantom two vision plus at the FPVLR facility. The issue is the epoxy glue that secures the antenna leads to the circuit board. To achieve the level of skill required to scrape this epoxy off whilst avoiding scraping off the two delicate connections maybe means paying for and practicing on a couple of boards. The epoxy is not applied in a consistent manner at the manufacturer. If the factory applies too much it seeps under the connection effectively putting it out of reach of the scraping tool. The modification is well worth doing but it is far cheaper and more satisfying paying some one else to do it. Killing a couple of boards would have caused me to walk away from the mod given the hassles of ordering , waiting and then reordering the same board. Have them do the mod. You will be very happy that you did.

This stage 3 kit is Awesome, I no longer have fpv connection loss or RTH at 400 meters.
I have not flown past 1000 meters yet so I do not know as of yet what the max distance I can get. one of these days I will get my nerves and try for max distance.
Installation was very simple, although I did not scrape the epoxy off, I just spliced the wires.
its a great comfort knowing you are not going to loss connection while you are flying.
This is a great product. I highly recommend it.

I’m very glad that i did the upgrade from stage 2 to stage 3, the range is almost 3 km, with the stage 2 i get 2200 km.. Removing the glue of dead, is no problem when you use a small stanley knife and have a lot of patience. I did it in an hour.. normally i fly no further then 600/700 meter, but now i know that i allways have a very good fpv and control…Tony thx.

WOW man im getting 7000 feet but I cant point it right because of the fpv booster app’s wifi wand wont work, im sure I can go further,because when I point it right at this distance(it can be hard,use a large landmark and fly towards it,then u know where to point.)I can even turn with super smooth video, getting the stage four in 2 days AND I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!FAVORITE STORE.tony also did the mod on my phantom,BEST SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 (very pleased customer)

Removing the black goo of death isn’t easy but Tony’s thread in phantom pilots solved that problem! Today I ran my Vision right out of my back yard here in Montgomery County, MD. Tons of trees all around me and I live in a valley as well. But there is a small space between two tall trees I like to shoot through. Before I knew it, I had 5400 feet distance and I still had five bars on my control signal (litchi app) and the only reason it turned around is I had the safe zone set at just over a mile. I have a long range fpvlr antenna I haven’t even used yet. If I can make a mile on 100 mw, what am I going to get when I add the 2000 mw booster?
