This is a new development for FPV antennas. It’s a 2.75 turns helix, the turns are more closely spaced than a conventional helix, and it uses a parasitic disk to achieve higher gain (9.3dBi) and better axial ratio compared to a regular helix.
The result is a very compact moderately directional antenna with very good efficiency, and same gain as a 3 turns conventional helix. The total length is less than half that of a comparable 3 turns helix, which is slightly more than a linear patch antenna which shines if attached directly to your FPV goggles. The ease of aiming this is unbelievable it feels almost as an omni when flying your course nearby and it becomes slightly directional with very wide beam width when going far. We have taking our racing quad to 3-4km with a 200mw VTX and this antenna.

Wow – this works really well. Doubled my FPV range over my old Clover Leaf set up! Now 2 KM is very easy! Clear image the whole distance. Will try for greater distances soon. Very happy with this antenna, to say the least. Paired with the 5.8GHz Pinwheel on my transmitter end.

I haven’t tested for range yet, but this thing is working great. I get *decent* coverage behind me and to the sides, which means the focus angle is a perfect hybrid for general flying and longer range when you don’t want to carry 5 different antennas.

I didn’t want to mod my inductrix 200 but wanted more range and better video. This antenna did it, it doubled my range and video quality. Way more fun to fly now!

This antenna is really sweet! I got this back in the thes face in it performs really good. Whenever i know i’m going for some distance but need coverage on the sides and behind me i use this bad boy.
